Deborah Hinds DTR, started work as a nutritionist over 20 years ago in a hospital setting, where periodic support sessions involving eating disorders ignited her true passion. In 2001, Deborah accepted a position at a treatment center specializing in eating disorders. Initially she worked under the direction of a dietitian, and soon Deborah was leading discussion groups, planning menus, working individually with clients and supporting them in group and individual meal sessions.

Deborah was trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) in 2006 by its founder Dick Schwartz, allowing for an expanded understanding of individual struggles, exploring who each client was with and without an eating disorder. She discovered this was where the difference was made, knowing each person, having a trusting, supportive, therapeutic relationship was key to help navigate through their fears around food and body issues that they face daily.

In 2017 Deborah decided to step back from work to focus on being a mother to her three equally enthusiastic boys (plus two cats and a dog). Looking for new challenges, she began exploring areas where nutritional needs and support where not being met in the eating disorders recovery field. Deborah started her own business Brave Bites LLC in 2020 offering meal support, nutritional assistance and eating disorder recovery support.

In 2021 Deborah began work for Harmony to aid their clients struggling with eating disorders. She provides nutritional support to clients as part of a multifaceted aid and guidance program needed for success in the recovery process. She meets individually with clients to develop meal plans they can work with and build on, while continually challenging sticking points. She engages with them by leading eating disorder groups to be motivated and involved in creating their own recovery

Deborah is a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and Eating Disorder Registered Dietitians and professionals (EDRDpro).
