For years, Harmony Place Monterey has stood as a leader in psychological and emotional well-being on the Central Coast, helping individuals find their way back to themselves through our expert-led treatment of trauma, addiction, and intimacy disorders.
Today, we are proud to announce the next evolution of our mission.
To better serve our community and meet the growing demand for specialized, evidence-based care in Northern California, we are expanding our footprint and evolving our brand. Harmony Place Monterey is becoming Harmony Treatment Centers.
This expansion marks a commitment to accessibility and clinical excellence, ensuring that our renowned model of care, developed by Dr. Mark Schwartz and Lori Galperin, is available to more families who need it.
Why We Are Expanding to San Jose in 2026?
For too long, residents of the Bay Area have had to travel significant distances to find the level of specialized care we provide. While our Monterey location offers a secluded retreat environment, we recognize the need for high-level care that integrates with the busy lives of professionals and families in the tech hub of the world.
Coming February 2026, Harmony Place San Jose will bridge this gap. Located in the heart of the Bay Area, this new facility is designed to bring our world-class clinical approach closer to those living and working in Silicon Valley.

One Philosophy, Two Locations – Our Clinical Programs
Under the banner of Harmony Treatment Centers, our two locations offer distinct environments but share a unified clinical soul. While our physical doors in San Jose open in February 2026, our clinical team is already developing the specialized tracks that will serve the Bay Area community. Whether you are in our PHP with housing in Monterey or attending outpatient groups in our future San Jose center, you will experience the same evidence-driven, compassionate programs.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our intensive outpatient program is shorter than our PHPs, consisting of 3 hours of intensive care and 1 or 2 individual therapy sessions multiple times per week. These treatment programs allow you to receive personalized care while living at home or within our therapeutic community.
IOP is ideal if you’re stepping down from PHP or need more structure than standard outpatient therapy without pausing daily life. The schedule balances accountability and autonomy, helping you apply new skills in real time. If you’re unsure which level of care fits best, our team can help you compare PHP vs. IOP and outline next steps.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Our Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) delivers the highest level of outpatient care—more structure than IOP without a 24/7 residential stay. Expect 5–6 hours of daytime treatment, five days per week, with multiple therapeutic groups, one-to-two individual sessions, and regular psychiatric check-ins. This pace helps you stabilize symptoms, practice new skills daily, and move toward independence with consistent clinical support.
Care is comprehensive and personalized: evidence-based groups (CBT/DBT), relapse-prevention and coping skills training, medication management, case management, and family involvement when appropriate. Your team collaborates on measurable goals each week so you can see progress and know exactly what’s next.
For added stability, we offer optional, affordable transitional living near our program. This supportive, recovery-focused setting includes transportation to and from our PHP, structured community expectations, and peer accountability. This is ideal if home isn’t conducive to healing or you’re traveling for treatment. Choose the arrangement that fits your life: live at home or opt for our affordable PHP housing while receiving full-day treatment.
