WEBINAR DESCRIPTION
Join Dr. Mark Schwartz as he presents his latest findings and insights regarding the critical impact of early attachment disturbances that lead to disorganized attachment, and the cascade of lifelong challenges that will most often follow, including intimacy and relational disorders, addictive disorders, and sexual disorders. Learn how sexual trauma and intergenerational sexual trauma can be passed on inadvertently generation after generation, and what to do about it as a clinician. “Advancing the field together” is Schwartz’s model and presenting his latest work and findings via online webinars is one of his longer term commitments to the field.
Dr. Richard Chefetz writes, “Sexuality without sensuality needs investigation.” The absence of a clear and coherent sense of being present in a body and experiencing the sensations associated with sexual activity, including the simple sensual ones, is an indicator of the dissociative isolation of somatic experience from awareness. This workshop will focus on hypo- and hyper-sexualities from the lens of dissociative experience.
Discussion will include the epidemic of low desire among women and the increase in use of pornography at a young ages. The primary focus will be on treatment strategies for clinicians, particularly following neglect and abuse in childhood.
Webinar Goals:
- To devise treatment protocols for hypo- and hyper-sexualities through the lens of dissociative formulation (40m)
Objective: Discuss the three similarities between hypo- and hyper-sexualities
- To discuss similarities between eating and sexually active addictive behaviors as dissociative in nature (40m)
Objective: Describe addictive patterns through dissociative lens and process of repair
- To incorporate trauma-resolution therapies into treatment of sexual disorders (40m)
Objective: Name three areas of trauma resolution not discussed very frequently
